Flatmates in Christchurch

Hi! I'm Sofia, an 18-year-old student looking for a flatmate situation starting January 2027 for a full year. I'm easygoing and adaptable—I'm flexible with furnishings and bathroom setups, and I'm happy living with up to four flatmates in a share flat or house. I need reliable internet for my studies and on-street parking, and I'm based around the Ilam, Avonhead, and Upper Riccarton areas with a budget of $250 per week. I'm looking for a laid-back household where we can get along well and share space comfortably—I'm keen to find people who are considerate and up for a relaxed flatmate dynamic!

Hi, I'm Jack, an 18-year-old student looking for a place to call home while I study. I'm a pretty laid-back person who values a balanced lifestyle — I'm focused on my studies during the day but love unwinding with my flatmates in the evenings, whether that's cooking together, watching something, or just hanging out. I'm flexible about most things when it comes to living space, whether it's furnished or unfurnished, but I do need off-street parking and a place in the Ilam or Canterbury area that fits my $200-a-week budget. I'm after student accommodation for about 36 weeks starting mid-February 2027, ideally with a small group of no more than four flatmates who are friendly and genuine — I think the best flats are the ones where people actually get along and respect each other's space.

I am a PhD student from Germany/Switzerland and will be coming to Christchurch for a research stay from 9 January 2027 to 25 March 2027. I am looking for a shared flat with a friendly atmosphere, hoping to also meet people in this way. I am quite active, enjoy being outdoors, love going to concerts, but also like playing board games or cooking at home. I have lived in shared flats for many years and value open communication. Please reach out even if you have a room for only part of the time!

Hey!:) My name is Gina, I‘m 21 years old and I study to become a secondary school teacher with the subjects english and arts🎨📚 For my studies I need to complete a mandatory 3-month stay abroad and i chose New Zealand because the country amazes me and i always wanted to visit!🤩🌄 During the time abroad I plan on doing a 1-month internship at either a school or kindergarden, but besides that I mainly want to travel the country and get to know the culture and people☺️😊 I'm pretty adaptable as a housemate, I'm respectful of shared spaces and easy-going about routines. I'm looking for a furnished room in a shared house or flat, ideally from mid-April for around 12 weeks (or less if I want to travel)

Hi! We’re Bracha (18) and Lisanne (21), and we’re looking for a place to stay from the 31st of October onwards. Hi, I'm Catherine, a 57-year-old student looking for a welcoming room in a share house for about 12 months starting late September 2026. I'm flexible with most living arrangements—furnishings, bathroom setup, and internet are all fine by me—and I'm happy to settle into a household with up to four flatmates. I'm a straightforward, considerate housemate who respects shared spaces and values a friendly, relaxed vibe where people can do their own thing. With no car, I'm looking for a place that's accessible by public transport or close to amenities I can walk to. My budget is $300 per week, and I'm genuinely excited to be part of a community where everyone gets along and looks out for each other.

Kia ora! I’m making the move from Wellington to Christchurch for postgraduate studies. Home for me is a place to recharge, so I like keeping things chill and organised. When I’m not studying, I’m usually out on my longboard and I love cats! (I have two). I'm looking for something furnished with an ensuite bathroom and reliable internet, as these are pretty essential for my studies. I'd love to find a cosy room in a share flat or house with no more than two other flatmates. Just a small, genuine community rather than a big student mansion. My budget is around $250 per week, and I'm planning to move in around mid-January 2027 for the full academic year. I’m super respectful of communal spaces, kitchen surfaces stay clean and clutter-free! I’m financially dependable, quiet during study hours, and appreciate a friendly, low-stress household where everyone does their own thing while keeping things easygoing.

Hi, I'm Mohit, an 18-year-old student looking for accommodation in the Riccarton or Canterbury area from mid-February for about six months. I'm a pretty straightforward housemate—I keep to myself during study time but enjoy hanging out and chatting when we're both around, and I'm generally quiet and respectful of shared spaces. I'm flexible about furnishing and bathrooms, but reliable internet is essential for my studies, and I don't need parking. I'm looking for a room in a share flat, share house, or student accommodation with up to three other flatmates, and I'm happy with either a private or shared room depending on what works best. My budget is $180 per week, and I'm hoping to find a calm, friendly household where we can all get along without too much fuss.

Hi! I'm Riley, a 19-year-old creative student balancing part-time work with my studies here in Christchurch. I'm pretty flexible with my schedule and try to be a considerate housemate I'm generally quiet during the day when I'm working or studying, but I'm always up for a chat or hanging out in the evenings. I'm looking for a room in a share house, flat, or studio around Christchurch or Saint Albans, ideally with reliable internet and on-street parking for my car. I'm flexible about bathrooms and don't need furnished spaces, so I can work with whatever setup works best. I'm hoping to find a household with no more than four people a relaxed, friendly vibe where everyone respects each other's space and routines would be perfect for me as I settle into my studies!
